The Istituto Oncologico Veneto (IOV) in Padua, Italy is hosting the first national installation of the PTW BEAMSCAN™ system, groundbreaking for LINAC commissioning and control routines: yet another milestone from PTW.
IOV Health Physics staff headed by Dr. Marta Paiusco, praised:
“We’re very excited about BEAMSCAN™. The actual automation of the primary setup and measurements procedures makes the system faster and simpler than any other traditional water phantom. This adds up to a significant time savings for both the new LINAC commisioning phase and periodic controls. We would actually have more time available to possibly increase the frequency of periodic controls.”
