Key Features and Functions
The AB-PTC ensures the highest air quality within the isolated environment thanks to:
- an engineered filtration system consisting of High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) pre-filters and Ultra Low Penetration Air (ULPA U15) unidirectional and return filters;
– an integrated vaporized hydrogen peroxide bio-decontamination system for very rapid bio-decontamination cycles
– inflatable seals made of FDA-approved Bio-Guardian® white silicone, with antibacterial inhibitors.
The integrated ventilation system ensures a pressure gradient between the two adjacent environments and the Pass-Through Chamber itself. This pressure gradient preserves the aseptic integrity of the materials after the bio-decontamination process is complete, prior to the removal of the materials from the cleanroom.
Maximizing operator protection is one of the key considerations when handling organisms from BSL-1 to BSL-4. Tema Sinergie’s AB-PTC system ensures maximum safety thanks to:
– An integrated vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VPHP) generator for decontaminating materials before they are removed from the BSL facility.
– Pressure control strategies to prevent reverse airflow between BSL and non-BSL zones.
– Bio-seal doors and gaskets to prevent leaks between BSL and non-BSL zones.
AB-PTC is therefore the perfect solution adaptable to various applications, for the decontamination of instruments and materials before their removal from BSL laboratories, to prevent the escape of potentially hazardous organisms to the outside.
The AB-PTC is equipped with an automatic leak-test system that can be performed routinely; it runs an independent cycle on each chamber in accordance with the pressure-varying method described in ISO 10648-2:1994(E), section 5.2.
An external control module made of AISI 304 stainless steel, housing the electrical and pneumatic components, provides direct access for all maintenance operations. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection enables secure and private communication over the Internet, allowing for remote access, support, updates, and maintenance at any time, from anywhere.

DATA MANAGEMENT
The AB-PTC can also be supplied with an integrated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system—iFIX with GE Digital’s Historian Data Management Software (DMS).
DataWall, a software application developed by Tema Sinergie for data management, is also available upon request.
